Education
I graduated from Archer High School in Lawrenceville, GA. I graduated in the top 5% of my class. I am currently a sophomore studying Sociology at Amherst College in Amherst, MA. I am a humanities student. I love all things related to the arts and humanities so I can definitely relate to students who detest quantitative classes! My advice to those students is to persevere through high school and enjoy the freedom of pursuing your passions in college. After College, I would like to attend law school.
Experience
I am a very passionate and experienced tutor. I believe that every student has the potential to succeed but many lack the tools to do so. I understand that everyone learns differently and in my prior experience with tutoring I have accepted the challenge to explore different ways to help others reach their maximum potential. Below are my qualifications and experiences as a tutor: -9th grade Biology and Algebra I tutor for 3 years -currently tutor/mentor elementary and middle school girls through a program called Girls Inc--I specifically focus on improving math and literacy skills -currently tutor middle school students at an after-school program called Vela Scholars -have taken and passed 7 AP Exams ], (including AP Biology [4], AP Psychology [5], AP Lang [3], AP Lit [3], AP US History [4], AP Gov [3], AP Macroeconomics [3]0 -AP Scholar with Distinction -Georgia National Merit Scholar -Quest Scholar and Ambassador for the QuestBridge Scholarship Program, assist students with college admissions essays and the application process
