As a tutor, I like to form a positive, respectful relationship with each student. I tailor the lesson towards their interests and hobbies, allowing us to form a relationship of trust that aids in the learning process. In a classroom setting, a group very rarely works together in any real way. Each individual is separated from the rest of the students and left to their own devices in the hopes that they will do what is necessary on their own. Quite often, the students that are falling behind are no less capable than their classmates - they just need one-on-one attention. I studied at the World Evangelism Bible College, and I have spent over thirteen years working as an elementary school teacher. This experience has given me a wealth of knowledge that is very useful in a tutoring environment. My specialties are Math, Reading, Phonics, Grammar and Mechanics, American History, Geography, Algebra, Pre-Algebra, Science, Social Studies, and English. When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I like to make scrapbooks, go hiking, and I love to sing and listen to music.
